Given that we are in the early stages of a New Year, I thought you might like to start this years' sewing projects with some new accessories.....

 

The hard decision is choosing.....  do you like this one , or this one ?  For something completely different, I love this one  :)

 

I didn't know whether to make this post one of my 'Jenny's Jaunts' posts, so I am adding both labels to it.... I hope you enjoy them.....but while I'm at it, the picture below is also my Chicken Scratch link :)

How to relax when you craft all day.....

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well.

 

As you know, I do a lot of craft for my shop, so when it comes to relaxing in front of the t.v., I'm still working!

 

I recently came across a site for a weekly 'yarn along' where you can link what you have been knitting or crocheting during the week, along with a book you might have been reading.

 

I liked the idea, and wanted to participate, but as I said, I needed a project to relax, and not have a time frame. 

I don't do a lot of knitting, so chose it over crocheting, and

decided to 'just knit' :)

 

I started by casting on  35 stitches...

 

...and proceeded to do some  garter stitch, which is sometimes referred to as the knit stitch ....

 

...to date, I  STILL have 35 stitches...lol...

 

I haven't worried about my tension, correct needles, or wool - my aim is to relax, and I'd

encourage anyone wanting to try knitting, to just 'give it a go' .... you can worry about your tension, etc. later :)

Just because....

Remember quite a while back, I posted about a 'crabby customer' ?

 

 I recently had a 'customer' leap to high bounds trying to get in...lol...

 

....if they had waited a few more minutes, I would have had the door open...

...it WAS only about 7.30am....lol...!!

Going to great lengths to meet the challenge.....

Hi everyone, how has your weekend been? 

Are you still catching up on Christmas?

 

Guess what I found under the Christmas tree.....?

 

a box of Whitman's chocolates .... 

celebrating 100 years since the introduction of their 'Sampler' box...

...the enclosed book told the history of the 'Sampler' box....

apparently, the messenger boy chocolate was introduced in 1915, and is solid milk chocolate... no soft centres, or nuts.......

..... I had to be sure.... lol....

The book also tells, a 'Sampler' box is sold every 2 1/2 seconds, and was only meant to last a year.....

.....If I received it Christmas Day 2012, and emptied the box late January 2013, does that count...lol...?

 

It was interesting to read the booklet, but unfortunately no embroidery pattern included, but the sampler does get a mention in the history of the 'Sampler' box.
