The Hexagon Quilt and the Star Quilt are both
hand pieced and hand quilted
I only used the sewing machine to add the binding
The other quilts have been machine pieced, but again, hand quilted.
All of my quilts to date have been made with material from my fabric 'stash'.
I have decided that my New Year's Resolution will be to try and do a couple of quilts as it has been a while since I have made any.
Writing this, has given me the idea that maybe I should start a diary of my quilt's progress, so anyone wanting to 'give it a go' can do a practice piece before starting on their own big project. Besides, your prompting may help me to actually finish one.
Remember, I am not qualified to say what is right or what isn't, but if you want to follow me, you are more than welcome. You can only learn from your own experiences be they right or wrong. You may even have suggestions of an easier way to do something. Whatever you decide, DON'T go out and buy material for this - use what ever you have on hand! Enjoy your 5 minute (okay, maybe 30) respite. 'Til next time, Jenny
Jenny, these are absolutely lovely!
ReplyDeleteI really love your hexi-garden: it is really sweet.
And your stars is such a classic!
I am like you, I love to hand-quilt, even if that means they have to wait their turn for a while...
And having a stash to pick fabrics from is one of the joys in my life!
:)
Thanks for sharing, Jenny!
