Searching for warmer climes.....'Jenny's Jaunts'

....Ouch!!    Watch the sunburn please.......

.......where have I been....?   Hawaii  of course!!     Given our cold and windy weather at home at the moment, I thought it would be a bit warmer....lol....

 Isn't it nice and colourful  :)  

I thought it  would be a good chance to call in and say hi to dear Jane while we were out and about, too....

I can't get over the amount of detail Dear Jane put into her quilt with such small pieces of material! It really does fill you with a sense of awe.


Naturally,  while on this jaunt, we would also need some sunscreen.....fortunately Sue has remembered her  sunbonnet ,  and Grandmother has her  fan, but maybe a   car  with a bit more protection than the one I use for our usual jaunts would be better......isn't  it a  hoot :)                      

 

I hope you have had a good time on this jaunt.............. did you see the car .......don't skip  it or you might have to push next time....lol...!!

Remember when....

Hi everyone, I hope your week is off to a good start.

Do you remember the old  shows on television........Happy Days, Little House on the Prarie, etc?

 I recently signed on as a follower of  this blog which is like a diary set in the 1940's.

When I read it, you can almost picture yourself there.....it really is a lovely site........I  plan on going back to read it from the start.   :)

While on my jaunt, I also came across a blog for lovers of embroideries and vintage linen.  This blog is also worth a visit.

 The post I found was about recent purchases at a market.....beautiful!   I think this site will go in the 'drool' collection...lol...  You will see what I mean......

'to do list'.....

Phew,  what a hectic few days!  I have been trying to fill empty gaps from last weekends' craft fair, and recent shop sales.

Whilst I have been making more than what you see below, I don't count  'work in progress'  until it is completely finished.

Casserole covers , Tea cosies , crochet topped hand towels , and.......

.....jewellery pouches .

At last!  I can cross something off that  'to do list'.....lol

The long and the short of it......

I hope your week is off to a good start.  I have just been visiting another blogger, who like most of us,  dreads  the dilemma of fabric measurement in relation to yards, or parts of yards.

Being my usual inquisitive self, it got me wondering too, so with a bit of searching, I came across this and thought there might be other crafters who might like to view it.

The site link also offers conversion to metric measurement, and  suggested quilt sizes.

Playing with Fat 1/4's.....

Hi everyone,

thank you for the comments you have been leaving :)

 For those of you admiring the fabrics displayed in my last post, I have recently started selling Fat 1/4's, and couldn't resist 'playing' with them.....

........this is as far as I go.... 'playing'.   

 I have made up a number of different combinations, and displaying  them  in the shop.   Amazingly, I have sold some of my combinations.  

I don't suggest them as a complete design, just a starting point.  For first timers it can be quite daunting where to start!

Happy weekend...

Hi everyone,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend....we had the weather for it didn't we?   The Craft Fair is over for another year, and was well attended by many people who appreciate what is involved in making handmade gifts.   Sorry, but I couldn't get nice pics to show you  :(

This was the 20th year for the event.

......Of course, it doesn't end there.........

.......my 'to do' list for today  started off with unpacking what was left from the Fair, then starting work on replacing sold items, and trying to make my 'to do' list smaller...lol...!!

Overall, I think everyone was happy with the weekend, and have our fingers crossed for an invitation to next year's event...it will be a great milestone for a Craft Fair.....21 years!!!   

As for that 'to do' list, maybe I could just fold it up smaller....lol...  :)

.....I know....where do I get the time for another one of my  jaunts  when there is a Craft Fair  to prepare for...lol...

I didn't stay long, but have been catching up with friends.   Robyn happened to mention  Dawn has started a free BOM....many thanks Dawn, for this offer.   The BOM has 10 parts, and judging by the title, may have a lovely Christmas feel to it....we will have to wait and see...lol...!!!

More recipes.......

Hi everyone, I hope your weekend has been a good one.

I've made another collection of recipes to share with you, so why not grab a cuppa and join me.....I know a few of  you enjoyed the first collection of recipes.......I hope you enjoy these too.....

Okay, where to start.......or should that be finish........lol.........all of these recipes are for cakes and slices!!

First of all...but in no particular order......we have raspberry jelly cookies ....which will probably go down well with the kids, then.........

........anyone willing to admit to being a chocolate lover.........this one is for you......the site has numerous recipes, and also variations :)

 If you like lemons, why not try here .....these little cakes  sound 'scrummy' :)

Nearly time to refresh that cuppa.......I haven't forgotten visitors from overseas....I saved a pumpkin brownies recipe recently, and thought you might like to see it.  I have never made a pumpkin dessert slice before......I like the sound of this one though.

I think that's enough for now.....admittedly I haven't tried these recipes yet, but they sounded too good......I hope you enjoy them!
